Purpose & Mission

Mission Statement

Bible Baptist Academy is a K4 through 12th grade school. The academy is a distinctly Christian academic institution, supporting and supported by Christian parents who have entrusted Christian teachers with the purpose of educating and training their children from a God-centered worldview. The goal is for each student to receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, to grow to be more like Him, and to faithfully serve Him for his or her entire life. Everything is done to the glory of God.

Purpose

As Jesus’ example in Luke 2: 52, we desire to train students in the following four areas.

  • Spiritually - favor with God
  • Academically - wisdom
  • Socially - favor with man
  • Physically - stature

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.

Luke 2:52

history of

Bible Baptist Academy

Bible Baptist Academy began in 1974 as Terre Haute Baptist School for the sole purpose of training young people to serve God and to know His Word. In May of 1976, Terre Haute Baptist School saw it's first graduate. Over the years, BBA has enrolled over two thousand students with over 250 graduates, many of whom have pursued higher education. Now over forty years since its inception, the mission remains the same - to ground young people in the principles of the Bible while providing them with a quality education.
In 1977, Bible Baptist Church purchased five acres of land and completed the multi-purpose building. In 2022, Bible Baptist Church and Academy broke ground on a new education wing that added ten classrooms, office space, and a large fellowship hall. Students and staff began enjoying the new space in the fall of 2023.
doctrinal statement of faith

WE BELIEVE...

in the verbal, plenary inspiration of the Bible

preserved in the King James Version which is our sole authority for faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:19-21).

in the Triune God

God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4).

in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ

the only begotten Son of God (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18, 20, 23; Luke 1:34-38).

in the sinless life of Christ

and His vicarious atonement for the sins of mankind by the shedding of His blood on the cross (Hebrews 4:15; 1 Peter 2:24; Romans 3:25; 5:9).

in His bodily resurrection from the dead,

in His bodily presence at the right hand of God as our Priest and Advocate, and His visible, pretribulational, premillennial return for His saints (Matthew 28:1-11; 1 Corinthians 15; Hebrews 7:25; 8:1; Acts 7:55-56).

in the creation of man

as a direct act of God; whereby, according to the Genesis account of creation, the world was made in six, twenty-four-hour days (Genesis 1 and 2).

in the moral and spiritual depravity of man,

having fallen from his blessed state with God is a sinner by birth and a sinner by choice (Genesis 3; Romans 3:10-23).

in the salvation of men,

by faith alone, in Jesus Christ and once saved, eternally saved (John 10:27-29).

that the Holy Spirit indwells and seals believers

unto the day of redemption, that the sign gifts of the Holy Spirit were temporary apostolic gifts for the unbelieving Jews, and that the Holy Spirit bestows spiritual gifts to every believer for the work of the ministry. (John 16:8-11; Rom 8:9; 1 Cor. 1:22; 1 Cor. 13:8)

in a literal Heaven

of eternal bliss for the saved and a literal Hell of conscious and eternal punishment for the unsaved (Revelation 20:10; 21:1-27; Luke 16:19-30; John 14:1-6).
